Best practices

Blocks 

Blocks enable creating and editing content in one place and presenting it in several places. To gain from this editor needs to analyse, which content is such that is used and shown on a single page, and which is such that we want to show it in several places. 

This defines where and how to create the blocks and upload media:

  • Utilise folders for creating blocks that are used several times
  • If a block is meant to be used inside main body, create the block directly to the page (“For This Page”)
  • Images and media are best to be added to folders instead of “For This Page”

Images

  • A selection of Orion brand images is available for use in Optimizely media folders in the correct sizes for different blocks / main header image (image sizes on the next slide)
  • Use of images on Section landing pages: – either one wide header image (brand image) or a brand image + graphic “microbe” image
  • On content page the main header image is optional
  • Additional brand images can be found in Material bank EMMI: Orion Material Bank (emmi.fi)

Below you can find recommended minimum image sizes. Also bigger images can be used, but the same aspect ratio should be kept.
